How to Persuade Your Fiance to Have a First Dance on Your Wedding Day

Whether you want to show-off or just have fun, the first dance at your wedding reception is optional but a tradition.

Being that your wedding day is the biggest day of your life, you probably want to enjoy it and take home some memories... Having that first dance will certainty add some entertainment to the occasion...

But what does your fiancé think about the idea? If he likes to dance, then it will be easy to discuss this with him and chances are he'll agree with you.

However, what if he doesn't dance, but you still want to make your wedding extra special by having one?

Your fiancé may be uncomfortable with the idea of having to dance. In fact, he just might refuse if nagged or pressured.

Before trying to convince him, you'll have to figure out why he is reluctant. If you ask him why, you might be able to come up with a good reason he should.

However, he may hide the true reason for his unwillingness and the reason he gives you may even convince you its okay NOT to have a first dance.

A better way to persuade your fiancé to dance is by not telling him there will be one... at least not right away. This strategy my sound sneaky, but when you think about it, no real harm is done. No one ever died dancing at a wedding...

Just approach him with the idea that both of you should learn to dance for fun and that you have signed up both of you for lessons. After a few lessons, he may start to enjoy himself and that's when you suggest NOT that you should have a first dance, but the idea of how fun it would be to dance at the wedding.

If you can, let him suggest the idea to have a first dance at the wedding reception, but don't let it seem like you choreographed it all along.

You must believe your intentions are noble. In fact, he might look back after the wedding and agree that having the first dance as part of the reception was one of the best things to include. Be indirect and creative in the way you ask for something and you'll never know what else you might get.
